Our class is currently reading The Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder. In this story from the 1800s, children often played with corn cob dolls and other things that stood in for toys. This week your child brought home a clothespin doll in a plastic bag with directions. This is a family project in which you and your son or daughter should dress the doll. The doll will receive a grade based on creativity, a biography that the student will write about the doll, and timely completion of the assignment. Fourth graders have done this project for years at Necedah. It is a sure sign of Christmas when the dressed dolls appear in the showcases at the school. Have fun and enjoy your time working together on this project.
